Palm Coast Data, which recently absorbed Kable Fulfillment services into its brand, announced today that it has hired two publishing consultants—Pete Pederson and Jim Borth—to provide counsel and continuity management to PCD clients during the company’s transition period.
“I have known and admired both of these gentlemen for years,” PCD president John Meneough said in a statement. “I’m delighted that they have joined our team and I look forward to the benefit of their expertise.”
Borth is a 30-year veteran of the publishing industry, and as founding executive of Dennis Publishing, he was responsible for the circulation launch and development strategies for Maxim, Stuff, Blender and The Week. Borth has also held executive positions at The Sporting News, Cahners Publishing and Curtis Circulation.
Pederson has held executive positions at Life magazine and Publishers Clearing House, where he developed what became known as Power Line, the company’s telemarketing arm. Pederson has headed up PCH’s publisher relations activities with more than 600 clients in the U.S., Canada and the UK. He is also a past Board Director of the FMA and the XYZ Club.
Palm Coast Data announced in October that it would move Kable’s Colorado and Illinois operations down to Palm Coast, Florida during a “phased process.” The combined entity has a client roster of more than 300 U.S. publishers.
In other PCD news, the company announced that SVP Rich Hovey has been selected to lead PCD’s new digital initiative, which is a part of its “commitment to help its clients amplify the digital delivery of content, customer/member acquisitions, brand maximization and e-commerce efforts.”
Dubbed DI9 internally, the digital initiative will interact seamlessly with PCD’s existing toolsets, including SmartLink, CSS and inSight.
