Hearst Magazines announced today that it has named Susan Allyn the company’s new VP, customer acquisition. The announcement was made by Liberta Abbondante, SVP, consumer marketing.
As head of a newly created marketing unit within consumer marketing, Allyn will be responsible for the execution of all subscriber acquisition campaigns through multi-channel marketing techniques. Allyn starts her new role immediately and will report to Abbondante.
Allyn was most recently VP, circulation marketing at TV Guide. Prior to that, she was consumer marketing director at Emap-Metro, LLC and Wenner Media; director of marketing information and finance at Time Inc.; and VP, consumer marketing at Knapp Communications. She was also circulation director at Weight Watchers Magazine and ABC Publishing.
Allyn was inducted into the DMA Circulation Hall of Fame in February 2008. She has been a member of the MPA’s Consumer Marketing Committee from 1983 to 2008 and served as the 1993 chairperson. She has also served on ABC’s Magazine Directors’ Advisory Committee for 21 years.
