Cygnus Business Media’s Construction Group is launching Polishing Contractor, a quarterly magazine serving the concrete polishing industry. The magazine will be sponsored by the Concrete Polishing Association of America and will “share the CPAA’s message of building and maintaining high standards of quality craftsmanship,” Cygnus says.
Polishing Contractor will be distributed as a supplement to Cygnus’ Concrete Contractor and Equipment Today magazines, as well as to CPAA members. The first issue will debut this fall at the International Concrete Polishing & Staining Conference.
“We selected Cygnus based not only on the company's highly qualified, targeted reach but also on the credibility its media properties have within the construction industry,” CPAA president Brad Burns says in a statement announcing the launch. “Their industry credentials, coupled with the variety of marketing vehicles available, will provide the CPAA with an opportunity to create awareness about the advantages of polished concrete. As the only magazine of its kind, Polishing Contractor will fill a void in our marketplace and ultimately contribute to a stronger and more profitable industry.”
In addition to Concrete Contractor and Equipment Today, Cygnus also produces Rental Product News, Pavement Maintenance & Reconstruction and Asphalt Contractor.
Separately, Cygnus recently stopped publishing weekly Printing News, a magazine that served the print and graphic communications industry. Instead, the magazine's resources will be put toward fulfilling a new contract with the Graphic Arts Show Company to produce print and digital versions of the Graph Expo Show Daily, which is distributed at the show. Reed Business Information's Graphic Arts Monthly produced the contract before the magazine folded earlier this year.
