New CEO Named at DMA

Lawrence Kimmel takes reins as association’s chief executive.

Trade association the Direct Marketing Association has appointed Lawrence M. Kimmel as CEO, replacing former president and CEO John A. Greco Jr., who resigned in January. Kimmel’s appointment is effective August 2.

Most recently, Kimmel served as chairman and CEO of direct and digital agency Grey Direct Global Network. The DMA says Kimmel was “the overwhelming choice” over the association’s six-month search—believed to be its “most extensive” in the group’s 93-year history.

“Larry brought Grey Direct record-breaking results virtually every year he led the firm, successfully serving many of the world’s leading companies,” says DMA Board Chairman Steven Dapper. “He will bring to DMA an extraordinary depth of global experience, a strong management capability, and powerful insights into the evolving and exhilarating direct and digital marketplaces.”

Before joining Grey Direct Global Network, Kimmel spent seven years in senior management at Draft Worldwide and founded Unimark, a direct marketing, promotion and advertising agency.
